PANTOKRATORAS

At the area of Pantokratoras -the island’s highest mountain-there are two routes. The first one has no signs. It starts from Palia Perithia(450m altitude) and ends up at the top of mount Pantokratoras(917m altitude)(duration 1hour and 15’). The second one starts from Strinilas village and through position Kranoula leads at the northern part of the village, at the mountain’s top.

PELEKAS-LIAPADES-PALIOKASTRITSA

At the area of Pelekas and after having visited the picturesque Myrtiotissa beach and the homonymous monastery , a steep climb leads to Vatos , whereafter the terrain levels out in the pastoral Ropa valley .Through Giannades the trail ascends into olive blanketed hills for Liapades .Then, there is a difficult path that leads to Paliokastritsa. At the area of Paliokastritsa and specifically at Lakones village ,there are three cobbled footpaths with signs-the one begins from Olympia market-place and lead to the Paliokastritsa bay.

NORTHERN PART OF CORFU

At this part of the island there are two routes. The one starts from Saint Spyridonas’ beach .After the wooden bridge of the sealake, there is a dirt road : following it ,after 1,6 km on the left, at the crossroads, there is a forest of cypresses ,eucalyptus and pine-trees that leads to the abandoned post-byzantine monastery of Aghia Ekaterini (about 30’). The second route has blue and red signs and it lasts 45’.It starts from the Nymfes village square and follows the asphalt. At the crossroads for Askitario, on the right and following the blue way-marking , you can reach the grave of the ascetic Artemios Paisios.

SOUTHERN PART OF CORFU

The first route (1hour and 30’) starts from Halikouna beach and reaches after the wooden bridge a cedar-forest. This path leads to Aghios Georgios beach. The second (45’) starts form the venetian salt stores at the beach of the pier near the wetland of Alykes and ends up at the lighthouse at the Lefkimi cape. The third route (1 hour), starting from the south of Kavos through the Arkoudilas forest, ends up at the monastery of Aghia Eleousa .On the left ,there is a path that leads to spots with amazing view to the Ionian sea.
